About Windsor News
For the people, for the city. Keeping council honest and you informed. No spin, just the truth.
Windsor News is a local civic news page for Windsor, Ontario. We cover City Council, the budget, public agencies, elections and the services residents use every day. Every story links the records and reports behind it so you can check them yourself.
How we work
- We stick to what can be sourced. If we cannot confirm something, we say so.
- We say where each fact comes from: a City record, an official statement or a named news outlet.
- When something is not known, we label it Unclear rather than guess.
- Campaign promises are labelled as campaign pledges, not City policy.
- Our cards use licensed photos (usually Creative Commons) with credits. Illustrative photos are marked as illustrative.
Neutrality
Windsor News is not affiliated with any candidate, party, campaign or other Windsor news outlet. We do not endorse candidates. During the 2026 municipal election we cover candidates' records and pledges using the same standards for everyone.
Corrections policy
We correct errors as soon as we confirm them.
- Corrections are made on the story page with a dated note saying what changed. We do not quietly change facts.
- If the error was in a post on X or Facebook, we post the correction there too.
- Small fixes that do not change meaning, such as a typo, may be made without a note.
- If a story is updated with new information, the page says it was updated and when.
To request a correction, email [email protected] with the story link, what you believe is wrong and, if you can, a source. We reply to every correction request.
