Election 2026

Dilkens pledges a police Real-Time Operations Centre if re-elected

Campaign pledge, not City policy. Mayor Drew Dilkens says funding is still needed and gave no cost figure.

At a Sept. 24 news conference at Windsor Police headquarters, Mayor Drew Dilkens announced a "Safety First" campaign pledge that includes a Real-Time Operations Centre for Windsor Police, AM800 reported.

He said the police service is already in the early stages, and that funding is still needed: "millions," with no figure given. He said federal and provincial funding would be explored. Cost and timeline: Unclear.

He also pledged to expand Greenlight cameras to all business improvement areas, add ward-wide proactive by-law outreach with public health and nursing staff, and add more traffic calming toward Vision Zero.

These are campaign pledges, not City policy. Election Day is Oct. 26, 2026.
